about artist aaron christensen
Aaron Christensen is an artist, designer and the creative force behind Embellishments Studio and Embellishments Kids, his children's design persona. A father of two, he and his wife, Angela live in Portland, Oregon. Aaron is an avid gardener. Although they live in a climate zone of 8, he loves to baby subtropical plants to survive Portland's wet and less than tropical winters. He is also a do-it-yourselfer, who enjoys trips to the hardware store and tackling the countless projects their 1920's bungalow sends his way.
Nurtured to celebrate his artistic talent from an early age, Aaron combines that gift, his training as a high-end holiday and display designer, and graphic artist with the tactile crafts of painting, woodworking and sculpting to transform his ideas into reality. His first published work of art was created in elementary school. It was a drawing of a Leprechaun family that he submitted to an organization that encouraged young readers to explore their imaginations through books. It was blown up and used as billboard art throughout southern California.

In his own words, Aaron's studio, Embellishments Studio "is a one-of-a-kind manufacturing plant, oversized craft room and art laboratory". Created in 1997, the studio offers a wide variety of art services to the public. The studio has been called upon to design and create everything from simple projects to over-the-top, custom and commissioned work. Having the studio capabilities go beyond the traditional art medium to include woodworking, metal craft, casting and molding, and small run production, has opened the doors to all kinds of fun and unexpected projects.
Through his company Embellishments Kids, he offers child specific design, murals and handcrafted elements to create magical environments for residential and commercial clients. Known for his children's rooms, which have been featured in magazines, on television and in the media, he prides himself on bringing to his projects a set of talents and tactile skills that go well beyond the traditional services of an interior designer. He has been called upon nationally to design rooms for celebrities and corporate personalities. Aaron focuses on making his services affordable for all of his clients, no matter if the project is great or small.
Aaron's studio is also the headquarters for his expanding art licensing business. Sought out by some of the top retailers and manufacturers, his signature style, creativity and ability to re-imagine subject matter to suit today's trends has rocketed his career as one of the most successful artists in the juvenile industry and a rising star in the contemporary markets. Aaron's designs go beyond wall art as he is expanding into the home decor, holiday, craft and furnishing categories.
In the 1990's, Aaron's involvement and visibility, as a pioneering gallery owner with a working studio and as a community leader helped transform a once blighted neighborhood into a thriving arts district. As his business grew, the demand for space increased and his art licensing successes lured him away from the retail gallery, Aaron found himself settled in a new studio on a half acre in a garden setting. To remain connected to the hustle and bustle of the art business, Aaron still enjoys participating in gallery showings and group exhibitions.
