Deanna, Congratulations on your new digs. Having lots of wall space is exciting, hopefully not intimidating. Have fun making it YOURS! Thanks for entering,

It is cliche, but I honestly love all of your art. I originally found you by looking up sports-related things and absolutely fell head-over-heels for the scoreboard. Then we decorated the boys playroom and "superhero lair" with (I think) every single piece from your superhero line. Now I fancy the science-y blackboard stuff because it is so fun, hip and now (and because we have a science lab in our garage). But my all-time absolute most bestest favorite is "Color Outside the Lines". It is visually beautiful, but it is the message that has my heart. Art is important. Personal art is even more important. Art doesn't need to be done "the right way"; it needs to be done to the artist's liking. After spending a year as an art docent in my boys' school, the idea of empowering kids to create what they want is an important one. I don't want my boys to fit in; I want them to stand out. I want their creativity to shine in everything they do. And this piece sums that up for me, in an adorably simple little package.

Krista, you make my day every time we chat. I'm so thankful and honored to be part of your kids' world. Can I come over and play in the science lab? I hope you have a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit, we might need them. Ha! You're so right about art needing to be outside the lines. We chatted before and I know you put your heart and soul into making your kids lives amazing. That makes you amazing! Keep blurring the lines and having fun! Thanks for entering!

Thank you so much for the opportunity to win one of your awesome works of art!! I absolutely love "Be the Ball" in your baseball collection. I am so fond of this particular piece because it reminds me of my late father. He grew up in South Boston in the 1940's and baseball was his saving grace. Every time I see "Be the Ball" and several other pieces in your baseball collection it gives me joy because I reminisce about the stories my father shared with me and the love of the game of baseball he passed on to my son. I have followed you on Pinterest forever and now I follow you on Facebook & Instagram too!

Kerri, thank you for sharing with me. It would honor me to have my art be the conduit between your love of baseball and the love you have for your father. Art should speak to ones soul and be personal like that. Thanks for entering and good luck! - Aaron

Thank you for the opportunity! I really like the "Please refrain from climbing on the ceiling". Simple typography but still with the vintage feel and great humour. Follow you on Pinterest. Love your work.

Peggy, you nailed the qualities that I was shooting for. I loved mixing the vintage "feel" with the more modern sentiment. It makes people glance twice. The second glance is when most people chuckle. Now, I don't promise it will work but at least you're serving notice to those wild ceiling climbers! Best of luck! - Aaron

Hi there Amy, how's my fellow PDX artist doing? Great I hope. I would of course be excited for you to hang my COTL piece. I love that it makes your heart swoon...awww. Good luck 7/13/2015 06:19:05 am
My brave son, Aaron, and his bandmate just relocated to Richmond 2 weeks ago to try to break in to the music scene there. They loaded up his jeep with their amps, guitars and not much else. They started new jobs today and have a cute little rental house that I'm sure would feel homier with some wall art. I think they'd much prefer your Recording Microphone to my girly art. :)

Hi Diana, He's out on his own and you're still putting his needs first. Major mom points go to you! I hope my fellow namesake musician finds a way to make his dreams come true. Best of luck to both of you.

Seriously Aaron, I love it all! You can make a splotch of sand and I'd like it! I particularly like the baseball and wine/beer categories! Go figure!
Aaron

Angie, define splotch. The last sand I painted was a tad bit bigger than a single splotch. You bore witness...ha! Sending good luck vibes to the Kurasz's and thanks for following me on Instagram!

I love your art. I came across your website a while back while searching for a particular piece by Rodney White. Your art reminds me of his and I've followed you ever since! I love the whimsical way you capture each subject. I adore your "color outside the lines", the Navajo wall print, your boys outdoorsy prints, and your super hero line! Would be hard to choose one favorite.
Aaron
7/13/2015 01:27:32 pm
Hi Alisha, I dig Rodney's work as well. He and I have discussed how our work is similar in execution, but we do take two different paths in content. He's a really nice guy, and is very sincere in his path to inspire others.
